January 2004RecycleNet Expands into the Canadian MarketplaceSalt Lake City, UT— RecycleNet Corporation announced the official launch of RecycleXchange.com, an online marketplace for the buying and selling of recyclable materials in Canada. RecycleNet operates an online trading platform for recyclable industrial materials. The firm said it acquired the Internet portal RecycleXchange.com in February 2003 and has successfully re-launched the site to serve as Canada’s premier recycling marketplace for materials such as glass, metal, rubber, paper, wood, plastic, chemicals, textiles, batteries, along with electronic equipment and consumer items. Utilizing the same network and platform as the Company’s main portal of www.recycle.net, RecycleXchange.com is organized into categories and grades of each material. Industrial generators of recyclable materials, along with brokers, dealers, processors and consumers, use the site to list materials to buy or sell. In addition, RecycleXchange.com includes directories of industry associations, publications and companies relevant to the Canadian recycling marketplace, along with listings for jobs, freight services and used equipment. According to the company, the launch of RecycleXchange.com reflects RecycleNet’s corporate goal of increasing the level and range of services it provides to its Canadian clients. The site is unique among RecycleNet’s network of sites in specifically targeting the Canadian marketplace. Currently, RecycleNet Corporation’s network of websites reports 1.8 million website visitors per month from over 150 countries worldwide. |
