Common goal sought by United Recyclers Group and committee
Committee aims to increase salvage part usage
Aurora, CO— United Recyclers Group, LLC (URG) and
participants in a major program of URG, Premium Recycled Parts developed
an advisory committee of key personnel from every segment of the automotive
industry. The committee held its first meeting at the NACE International
Autobody Congress Exposition in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The first meeting was successful with seventeen committee
members in attendance. There were vital representatives from each segment
of the industry present including the insurance sector, data providers
and estimating software vendors, independent collision shops, consolidated
collision shops, mechanical shops, auto recyclers, as well as representatives
from United Recyclers Group, LLC and the Premium Recycled Parts program.
The committee’s goal at the first meeting was a
fact-finding mission. URG is seeking to gather information from each
of these areas of the marketplace and get down to the issues within
this industry that cause low used part usage rates.
“The first meeting was a resounding success. With
all the entities involved present, we were able to identify a number
of impediments in the process, from the insertion of quality parts data
into the estimate through the supply of quality salvage parts into the
repair facility. The panel participants were all very enthusiastic about
the meeting results and it’s apparent that we have a number of
areas that can be improved that will enhance the process,” says
John Fischl, owner of Riteway Auto Parts in Phoenix, Arizona and director
of Preferred Auto Recyclers.
