Weyerhauser to recycle plastic

Glenwood. OR— Weyerhauser, a leading paper manufacturer, is leading the way in recycling plastic, and they’re looking for even more trash to rescue.Weyerhauser recycles thousands of tons of plastic.The company works with businesses to find uses for their old plastics.

Lorena Young, of Weyerhaeuser’s Recycling plant is always looking for more plastics to collect and send off. “Weyerhaeuser is consolidating loads, finding markets, developing processes to get these plastics our landfill and into markets where they can be turned into new products.”

They’ve recovered things like used plastic toys, old grass seed bags, plastic bottles, lumber strapping and plastic film.

Individuals can also drop off plastics at Weyerhaeuser’s Glenwood recycling center.
