New Jersey town doubles recycling rates
RecycleBank™, a rewards program that motivates people to recycle,
announced that Cherry Hill, New Jersey. has become the 27th municipality
in the United States to deploy the RecycleBank program. After just one week
of collection, the town has already seen homes in the pilot program more
than double the amount of waste being recycled.
RecycleBank’s program presented Cherry Hill the opportunity to increase
recycling rates by offering its citizens rewards for recycling. After just
one week of participation, there has been a 134 percent increase in recycling
rates, with the amount of recyclables more than doubling from about 12 pounds
per household to nearly 26 pounds.
Cherry Hill residents can redeem their RecycleBank Points
with national RecycleBank Reward Partners like Coca-Cola, IKEA, Starbucks,
Dick’s Sporting Goods
and Whole Foods, as well as with local Cherry Hill retailers. |
