Sims Recycling Solutions ranked number one Sacramento recycler
Electronics recycler processed over 12,000 tons of e-waste
Sims Recycling Solutions is ranked as the number one electronics recycler by the Sacramento Business Journal for the fourth consecutive year. The publication’s annual list uses the amount of electronic waste recycled during the year before to determine the top five recyclers in the Sacramento area. Sims processed more than 12,000 tons of e-waste in 2011 at its Roseville facility.
The fully certified electronics recycling facility provides end-of-life recycling and asset management services for local businesses and consumers. The site consists of 200,000 sq.ft. of electronics processing, including manual and mechanical sorting and shredding machinery.
“People know it’s important to recycle old electronics, such as computers, printers and TVs, and the more convenient it is to dispose of these devices, the less likely it is they will end up in the trash and in landfills,” stated Steve Skurnac, president, Sims Recycling Solutions, Americas.
Sims Recycling Solutions holds a free drive-through and drop-off electronics recycling event on the first Friday of every month at the company’s site located off Washington Boulevard in Roseville. Sims accepts the following items: computers, laptops, keyboards, mice, printers, cell phones, radios, stereos, phones, CD and DVD players, MP3 players or portable audio devices and clocks. Sims cannot accept appliances, liquids, toner cartridges, hazardous materials, cans, bottles, oils, automotive parts, tires, large appliances, refrigerators, microwaves, construction materials or paper.
