TransLoad America places railcar contracts
TransLoad America Inc. announced that it has awarded a contract to National Steel Car to construct up to 1,200 gondola railcars to service its transload facilities and landfills.
TransLoad America (TLA) and National Steel Car collaborated on the design and engineering of the 286 gross rail load, 6,400 cubic foot railcars to maximize the efficiency of shipping construction and demolition debris (C&D), baled municipal solid waste (MSW), as well as other products.
The railcars are custom designed with high sides and no interior bracing to optimize the loading and unloading efficiency for both C&D and baled MSW.
TLA recently acquired proprietary baling technology that produces highly compressed, shrink-wrapped MSW, sealed in several layers of impermeable plastic film. The baling process significantly increases density and eliminates odor and leakage. |
