Kevin Gershowitz receives “40 Under 40”
award
Medford, NY— Kevin Gershowitz,
the executive vice president of Gershow Recycling Corp., located
in Medford, New York, was selected by Long Island Business News
for recognition.
Gershowitz was named during the
annual awards ceremony honoring Long Islanders under the age of
40 who have made a significant contribution to the enhancement
of Long Island.
John Komenicki, publisher of
the Long Island Business News presented the “40 Under 40”
awardees with plaques in recognition of their contributions and
achievements during an awards breakfast with over 300 attendees.
Kevin Gershowitz and his brother
oversee the daily operations of family-owned Gershow Recycling
Corp., founded by their father in 1964 and today, a national leader
in the sale and distribution of scrap metal manufactured from
recyclable metal and iron.
Gershowitz is active in several
professional organizations, serving as first vice president for
the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries New York Chapter and
vice president for Empire Metal Merchants.
Spearheading Gershow Recycling’s
community efforts, Gershowitz launched the Gershow Recycling Scholarship
Program, granting six scholarships a year toward higher education
to seniors graduating from local public high schools.
Under his leadership, Gershow
Recycling also supports regional high school robotics teams competing
regionally and nationwide.
