May 2004New Way Offered to Purchase Government ScrapBattle Creek, MI— The Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service (DRMS) has requested technical proposals (RFTP) and Draft Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the multi-year sale of scrap material at locations nationwide. This “Scrap Venture” (SV) Initiative offers the high bidder the chance to purchase nearly all scrap material collected by DRMS that are generated within the continental United States and Alaska. The term of the sale will be at least 7 years, and DRMS may elect to extend the term to up to 10 years. After a review of the technical proposals, DRMS officials will invite all those found technically qualified to bid. Potential bidders should note that the provisions of the SV Initiative have been modified in response to industry suggestions received at the DRMS scrap venture industry forum. Anyone considering making an offer should review the RFTP and Draft IFB online here prior to submitting a technical proposal. If you are unable to access the DRMS website, you can request a copy via e-mail at Tina.Aldrich@dla.mil. |
