OmniSource acquires K&F Industries
Fort Wayne, IN— OmniSource
Corp. has acquired K&F Industries, Inc. located in Indianapolis,
Indiana. OmniSource described K&F as the largest full-service
scrap recycler in central Indiana, moving 200,000 tons of ferrous
scrap and 2-million tons of non-ferrous materials annually.
OmniSource is planning significant
capital investment in the Indianapolis facilities to increase
capacity and serve an expanded customer base. The company is prepared
to install a new 6000 hp shredding and reclamation system, add
new material handling and transportation equipment, and develop
a new, high-volume nonferrous metals processing plant.
The K&F facility in Indianapolis
has become the headquarters of OmniSource’s newly formed
Southern Indiana Division. K&F principals Greg and Barry Kroot
have joined OmniSource, with Greg Kroot assuming the position
of manager of the new regional division.
