CONEXPO-CON/AGG has Large Turnout

More than 111,350 industry professionals attended CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2002 and IFPE 2002 to view the latest equipment, products and technology of the construction, construction materials and power transmission industries. International visitors account for about 14 percent of this number, tracking comparably to the last show, held in 1999, and exceeding all expectations.

CONEXPO-CON/AGG is the Western Hemisphere's largest exposition for the construction, aggregates and ready mixed concrete industries. IFPE is North America's largest exposition and technical conference dedicated to power transmission systems, components and controls. The two were co-located for the first time in 2002 and were held March 19-23 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2002 and IFPE 2002 attendance and exhibit space totals display the resilience of the construction, construction materials and power transmission industries. Combined, the events represented more than 2,450 exhibitors with over 1.94 million net square feet of exhibits.

CONEXPO-CON/AGG is expected to be the largest trade show of any industry in the U.S. this year, and the co-location of IFPE 2002 brings another 341 exhibitors and 94,585 net square feet of exhibit space to Las Vegas for the two events.

CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2002 has set records for exhibit space and number of exhibitors with more than 1.846 million net square feet of exhibits (the equivalent of over 42 acres, or over 38 football fields.) and more than 2,100 exhibitors.

CONEXPO-CON/AGG is owned by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA), and the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association (NSSGA); and is co-sponsored by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). IFPE is owned by the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA) and CONEXPO-CON/AGG Show Management Services.

Marshall Gralnick of Global Equipment attended this year's CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2002. He had a booth to display his products.

"As far as our personal experience goes, we had a good show with extremely excellent qualified sales leads. The show was a full five days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ConExpo is still the place to be every three years," Mr. Gralnick said.
