Waste Industries declares dividend

Raleigh, NC— Waste Industries USA, Inc. announced that its Board of Directors declared a quarterly dividend. The dividend of $0.09 per share is payable April 21, 2006 to shareholders of record at the close of business on April 10, 2006.

This dividend was declared in keeping with the Board’s previously announced policy to consider paying cash dividends on a quarterly rather than a semi-annual basis and is an increase over the prior dividend rate. The payment of the dividend was delayed from the first quarter of 2006 until the Company could complete the negotiations of its recently amended revolving credit facility, which increased the Company’s ability to pay cash dividends.
