Recyclers pass proceeds to city

Fresno, CA— Electronic Recyclers delivered a check to Fresno Mayor Alan Autry in recognition of proceeds collected from the city’s first eWaste-related Earth Day event. Electronic Recyclers partnered with the City of Fresno this past Earth Day, resulting in the largest Earth Day eWaste collection event in the region’s history.

Electronic Recyclers’ president, John S. Shegerian, also announced that Fresno area residents had recycled over 147,000 pounds of unwanted items, including 78,000 pounds of SB20 (state recognized and covered) electronic waste. Electronic Recyclers had pledged to contribute proceeds from the collection to the city of Fresno and presented Mayor Autry with a check for $15,631.46.

Funds that were collected will go toward the support of programs including Operation Clean Up, litter control, street sweeping and more.
