Recyclers pass proceeds to city
Fresno, CA— Electronic Recyclers delivered
a check to Fresno Mayor Alan Autry in recognition of proceeds
collected from the city’s first eWaste-related Earth Day
event. Electronic Recyclers partnered with the City of Fresno
this past Earth Day, resulting in the largest Earth Day eWaste
collection event in the region’s history.
Electronic Recyclers’ president, John
S. Shegerian, also announced that Fresno area residents had
recycled over 147,000 pounds of unwanted items, including 78,000
pounds of SB20 (state recognized and covered) electronic waste.
Electronic Recyclers had pledged to contribute proceeds from
the collection to the city of Fresno and presented Mayor Autry
with a check for $15,631.46.
Funds that were collected will go toward the
support of programs including Operation Clean Up, litter control,
street sweeping and more.
