Environmentally responsible metallic recovery
method created
New Jersey— Recycalytics,
a company that specializes in the recovery of metallic values
from end-of-life catalysts and catalyst production scrap, has
begun accepting end-of-life metal supported catalyst media for
recovery of the contained platinum group metal values.
Kurt Ellis, president of Recycalytics
stated “metal substrate catalyst elements have always been
a challenging recycling problem. We have spent the last two years
experimenting to find an effective method to recover the high
PGM values bonded to the metal monolith. We’re pleased to
have finally identified an efficient and environmentally friendly
solution.”
According to Ellis, “our
business model is simple and straightforward. We rapidly assess
the contained metallic value on any given catalyst. We can then
calculate settlement values based on market pricing for the contained
metals. Our customers receive immediate payments without the risks
and complexities of traditional toll refining charges, delays,
sampling requirements and price fluctuations.”
Chris Varrecchione, vice president
of sales and marketing adds, “it is a true delight to hand
a customer a large check for what they had presumed to be essentially
a disposal problem. It’s a classic case of converting lemons
to lemonade.”
Catalytic materials handled include
ceramic (monolith & bead), metal supported catalysts of all
varieties, reforming, and carbon supported catalysts as well as
automotive catalytic converters. |
