Commercial Metals recycles plastics
Commercial Metals Company has closed on the purchase
of substantially all the operating assets of Yonack Iron & Metal
Co. and Metallic Industries, LLC.
The acquisition included the operating assets
of two affiliates, Yonack Services, Inc. and Plastex International,
Inc. Yonack operates scrap metal processing sites in Dallas and
Forney, Texas; Stroud, Oklahoma and Lonoke, Arkansas. Plastex is
a plastic recycling company with operations in Grand Prairie, Texas.
These facilities will operate as part of Commercial Metals Company’s
CMC Recycling (CMCR). Bob Yonack, president and sole shareholder
of Yonack, will serve in a consulting capacity to CMCR.
The acquisition of Plastex will mark Commercial
Metals’ entry into the plastics recycling business.
