Covanta Warren Energy receives STAR rating
Covanta Warren Energy Resource Co., a 448 ton-per-day energy-from-waste (EfW) facility in Oxford, New Jersey, was honored by the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) with its “STAR” rating.
OSHA’s STAR rating is the agency’s highest honor given to power generating facilities with outstanding health and safety practices.
The award reflects Covanta Warren’s dedication and adherence to the highest health and safety protocols in the industry. Covanta Warren is owned and operated by Covanta Energy Corporation.
After recycling efforts are completed, the facility takes the remaining municipal solid waste that would otherwise be destined for a landfill and converts it into clean, renewable energy, generating up to 13.5 megawatts for Warren County and the neighboring Hunterdon, Sussex, Bergen, Essex and Morris Counties.
