Pennsylvania DEP to hold public hearing on ERSI landfill
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection
(DEP) will hold a public hearing in July to accept testimony on an application
by Environmental and Recycling Services Inc. (ERSI) to expand the landfill
in Taylor Borough, Lackawanna County.
The application requests approximately 10 acres of new landfill area.
Another 50 additional acres would overlay the existing construction and
demolition waste landfill and the former Amity Landfill.
The department requests that those wishing to testify at the hearing
submit a written notice of intent to the Department of Environmental
Protection, 2 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711-0790. All correspondence
should be sent to the attention of “ERSI Landfill Public Hearing.”
DEP will accept notices up to the day of the hearing.
Written copies of oral testimony are requested. Relinquishing time to
others is prohibited.
