Republic Services reports first quarter results
Republic Services, Inc. reported net income of $142.9 million, or $0.38 per diluted share, for the 3 months ended March 31, 2012. Net income for the 3 months ended March 31, 2012 and 2011 includes a number of charges and other expenses that impacted its results.
Revenue for the 3 months ended March 31, 2012 increased to $1,982.4 million compared to $1,964.9 million for the same period in 2011. This increase in revenue of 0.9 percent was made up of increases in core price of 0.6 percent, fuel recovery fees of 0.5 percent, volumes of 0.2 percent and acquisitions, net of divestitures of 0.4 percent, partially offset by a decrease in recycling commodities pricing of 0.8 percent.
Republic’s board declared a regular quarterly dividend of $0.22 per share for stockholders of record on July 2, 2012.
