City
makes recycling easier for residents
John F. Street, the City of Philadelphia Mayor
joined the Streets Department officials July 12, 2006, to launch
the City of Philadelphia’s newest innovation in curbside residential
recycling. They unveiled a visually impacting recycling collection
truck created by the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program.
Beginning the week of July 10, 123,000 Northeast
Philadelphia households, more than 20 percent of the city, will
no longer separate recyclables into different collection containers.
North Philadelphians can now add #1 and #2 plastics and cardboard
commodities to their recycling bins. |
