Abanaki rewards best video using oil skimmers

Abanaki Corporation is offering a prize of $1,000 to the person developing the best home-made video or print ad promoting the company’s oil skimmers. “We got the idea from Chevrolet’s competition for college students to design a commercial shown during the Super Bowl,” said Abanaki president Tom Hobson. “We felt that the slick advertising types shouldn’t get all the glory, and that it would be fun, and enlightening to see how the average person would advertise our oil skimmers.”

The contest is open to anyone who feels they have an interesting or innovative way to market oil skimmers. A panel of experts will judge the entries based on creativity, originality and imagination. The contest started June 1, and all entries must be submitted by end of day, August 31, 2007. Complete rules and entry forms are available at
