Ohio EPA permits major landfill expansion
in Stark County
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
approved a major expansion of American Landfill, Inc. located in
southern Stark County.
The Ohio EPA has issued final solid waste and
air permits to American to expand up to 160 acres laterally and
178 acres vertically. The expansion will create up to 84.4 million
cubic yards of additional disposal capacity and extend the life
of the landfill by at least 18 years.
Issuance of the permits can be appealed to the
Environmental Review Appeals Commission (ERAC). Appeals for permits
must be filed within 30 days of issuance. |
