Steiner joins effort to reduce oil
dependency
Washington, DC— Securing America’s
Future Energy (SAFE) announced that Frederick W. Smith, chairman,
president, and CEO of FedEx Corporation, and General P.X. Kelley
(Ret.), former Marine Corps Commandant and member of the Joint Chiefs
of Staff, will serve as co-chairs of a major effort by business
leaders and retired senior military officers in support of a comprehensive,
long-term policy to reduce United States oil dependence and improve
energy security.
During the coming months, SAFE will work with
members of the Energy Security Leadership Council (Council) to develop
a specific energy security policy proposal and work aggressively
to build bipartisan support.
