The Four Seasons Hotel Miami receives
green certification
Miami,
FL— The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)
welcomed the Four Seasons Hotel Miami to the Florida Green Lodging
Program.
The voluntary state initiative provides the lodging
industry with technical assistance, encouraging hotels and motels
to adopt cost-saving ‘green’ practices that reduce waste
and conserve natural resources.
The Four Seasons Hotel Miami reduces water consumption
by using technologically advanced showerheads, faucets, spray nozzles
and toilets.
The lodging facility also conserves energy through
energy efficient appliances and an energy management system, while
indoor air quality is improved through proper air conditioner maintenance
and efficient filters.
Additionally, the hotel participates in recycling
programs and purchases environmentally-friendly materials such as
non-toxic cleaners, high-efficiency equipment and low-mercury light
bulbs.
Launched in March 2004, the Florida Green Lodging
Certification Program establishes environmental guidelines for hotels
and motels to conserve natural resources and prevent pollution.
With the addition of the Four Seasons Hotel Miami, the program has
16 hotels certified, with 13 in the process of becoming certified.
