Shredder introduces “Castings for a Cure” program
The US Shredder and Castings Group announced
its inaugural “Castings for a Cure™” campaign. Between August
1st and October 31st, a portion of all the company’s castings
sales will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The
company will also be accepting donations during that time as
part of the campaign. The donations will be contributed in honor
of company president Bill Tigner’s wife, Carla, a breast cancer
survivor.
According to Tigner, “Like thousands of families,
breast cancer has had a tremendous affect on my family, including
my wife, my mother and even my father-in-law. All three are now
cancer survivors thanks to research made possible from foundations
like the Susan G. Komen for the Cure.”
The company has produced pink “Castings for
a Cure” castings that will be given to each customer and donator
during the campaign. The program is planned to be repeated every
year until a cure has been found.
