Nucor and The David J. Joseph Company host program on mercury switch removal
In August, 2007, Nucor Corporation and The David J. Joseph Company (DJJ) hosted an event encouraging participation in the National Vehicle Mercury Switch Recovery Program (NVMSRP).
Participants included more than 50 scrap suppliers in coordination with the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ). The event included a presentation by John Kinter of Nucor, and Chris Bedell of DJJ about the Mercury Switch program, training materials for distribution to each attendee, and signup materials to strongly encourage participation in and support of the NVMSRP program.
Nucor and DJJ’s ultimate goal is increased participation in the NVMSRP program and the collaborative steps needed to make the program more sustainable for 2008.
