tournament to be held in Phoenix
The Environmental Research and Education Foundation
(EREF) will be holding its 2010 Fall Environmental Classic Golf
Tournament on October 21, 2010. Sponsored by Veolia Environmental
Services and Republic Services, Inc., the tournament will take
place at the Wildfire Golf Club Faldo Course at the J.W. Marriott
Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Arizona.
The format for the Golf Tournament will be
Captain’s Choice. First and second place teams will receive crystal
commemoratives and a framed team photo per player. Hole-in-one
prizes will be given at all par 3s including the chance to win
a vintage Corvette. There will also be other prize winning opportunities,
including the chance to win a $10,000 putting contest.
Michael J. Cagney, president and chief executive
officer of EREF, said, “Since the tournament began in 1993, more
than $1.2 million has been raised for EREF’s work to advance
our understanding of the treatment of solid wastes.”
The cost to participate in the tournament
is $750 per player, $3,000 per foursome. This year’s sponsors

COMANCO, Environmental Solutions Group, Environmental Specialties
International, Inc., Joyce Engineering, Inc., Landmarc Environmental
Services, McNeilus Companies, Perkins Manufacturing Company,

Age.
EREF is a 501(c)3 class charity that supports
research to develop and evaluate new approaches to manage solid
waste and funds scholarships for advanced degrees in environmental
science and engineering.
