Recovered
paper consumption rises
According to the July 2010 Recovered Paper
Monthly Report published by the American Forest & Paper Association
(AF&PA), total United States industry consumption of recovered
paper was 2.7 million tons, an increase from June 2010 of 4 percent.
July’s consumption was 9 percent higher than in the same month
last year. The United States consumed 8 percent more recovered
paper in the first 7 months of 2010 than during the same period
last year.
United States exports of recovered paper
were down 4 percent in June compared to May. Total recovered
paper exports in 2010 are 2 percent lower than during the same
6 months in 2009.
