Panasonic announces program results
Panasonic announced the results for the first six
months of the 2006 plug-in to eCycling program.
As a result of recycling events led by Panasonic
along with a number of other leading electronics manufacturers,
almost 1.9 million pounds of wanted and obsolete electronics were
diverted from landfill disposal during the first half of 2006.
Panasonic teamed with Amandi Services, a Pennsylvania-based
recycler of electronic products, to underwrite the costs of recycling
Panasonic branded products collected at one-day or ongoing events
held throughout the year. Several other manufacturers including
JVC, Samsung and Sony also participated in the events.
So far in 2006, Panasonic, Amandi and other members
have staged 99 events in 8 states including Connecticut, Illinois,
Indiana, Kansas, North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania and West
Virginia. |
