California settles over BKK Landfill
The California Department of Toxic Substances
Control and 27 defendants have entered into a consent decree regarding
the BKK Landfill in West Covina, California.
The decree partially settles a suit the state
filed against the defendants. The defendants will provide up to
$5.2 million to help pay for work conducted before the defendants
take over maintenance of the site. The landfills at the site accepted
both hazardous and nonhazardous waste from various periods from
the mid-1960s to the mid-1990s. |
