US Postal Service chooses Safety-Kleen
Plano, TX— Safety-Kleen®
Systems, Inc., announced it has been awarded a multi-year exclusive
contract by the United States Postal Service (USPS) to provide
hazardous and regulated waste management solutions.
Under this national agreement,
the first of its kind, Safety-Kleen will be the sole authorized
national company providing the following services:
•Oil collection and re-refining
for more than 1.5 million gallons of motor oil;
•Parts cleaning and solvent disposal services;
•Containerized waste management, including oil filter
recycling and disposal of absorbent materials; and,
•Vacuum services for separators, drains and trenches.
Safety-Kleen will service approximately
750 postal facilities that generate hazardous and other regulated
wastes. According to Mike Fraser, Safety-Kleen vice president
of National Accounts and International Sales, the USPS will receive
safe and consistent waste management services by consolidating
with Safety-Kleen, while also reducing costs and improving operational
standards.
Fraser also noted that the USPS
contract is evidence that, in today’s market, environmental
services have evolved from simple collection and processing to
more advanced solutions requiring multiple disposal technologies
and stringent compliance activities. |
