Paper Industry to recognize outstanding recycling
efforts
2006 entry forms face February 17th deadline
Washington, DC— The American
Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) announced that entry
forms for the 2006 AF&PA Recycling Awards are available at
www.paperrecycles.org. In 2006, AF&PA will recognize outstanding
individual, business, community and school recycling efforts.
AF&PA created the Recycling
Awards to help promote increased paper recovery. Thanks to the
dedication of millions of Americans who recycle on a daily basis,
the industry currently recovers nearly 50 percent of the paper
consumed in the United States. While this is a significant achievement,
the industry has set a goal to recover 55 percent by 2012. Reaching
the new recovery goal will require the kind of creativity and
ingenuity highlighted in AF&PA Recycling Award winning programs.
