paper consumption up
According to the September 2010 Recovered
Paper Monthly Report published by the American Forest & Paper
Association (AF&PA), total United States industry consumption
of recovered paper was 2.63 million tons, 8 percent higher than
September of last year. However, consumption in September was
3 percent lower than August. The United States consumed 9 percent
more recovered paper in the first 9 months of 2010 than during
the same period last year.
United States exports of recovered paper
were down three percent in August compared to July. Year-to-date
exports of recovered paper are two percent lower than during
the same months last year.
