2007 AF&PA award entries now available
The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA)
announced that entry forms for the 2007 AF&PA Recycling Awards
are available at www.paperrecycles.org. In 2007, AF&PA will
again recognize outstanding individual, business, community, and
school recycling efforts.
Thanks to the dedication of millions of Americans
who recycle on a daily basis, a record 51.5 percent (51.3 million
tons) of the paper used in the United Sates was recovered for recycling
in 2005. While this is a significant achievement, the industry has
set a goal to recover 55 percent by 2012. Reaching the new recovery
goal will require the kind of commitment and dedication highlighted
in the AF&PA Recycling Award winning programs.
Past award winners have been highlighted in print
and online media and featured extensively on the www.paperrecycles.org
website through podcasts, videos, and program summaries. Those individuals,
businesses, communities, and schools engaged in successful paper
recycling programs are encouraged to apply in the following categories:
Ed Hurley Memorial Paper Recycling Award
AF&PA Business Leadership Recycling Award
- Business recycling program
AF&PA Community Recycling Awards
- Community (city or county) with fewer than 100,000 residents
- Community with more than 100,000 residents

- School-wide (K-12)
Visit www.paperrecycles.org
for complete award descriptions and entry forms. Entries must be
