Repair companies cited for illegal
marketing
Columbus, OH— Attorney General Jim Petro
filed suit against three collision repair companies for violating
Ohio’s Do-Not-Call Law and the Consumer Sales Practices Act
(CSPA).
Complaints received by Petro’s office and
the Federal Trade Commission allege that AA Precise Collision, Inc,
Buckeye Collision and Glass, Inc., and Mid-Ohio Collision LLC were
calling Ohioans listed on the National Do-Not-Call Registry. The
businesses contacted persons who had been in auto accidents to sell
them collision repair services. All three companies are located
in the Columbus area.
The lawsuits asks for them to pay $500 to each
person that received a call who was on the Registry and for each
company to pay a $25,000 civil penalty per violation of the CSPA. |
